After many years as a web designer, user experience architect and creative director at several large agencies in the vibrant Minneapolis design scene, I took the leap into full-time freelance work. Instead of pursuing client work like most freelancers, I focused on providing services directly to agencies through my company MateoWorks.

What began as a very “web agency” focused freelance practice soon grew into something entirely different as I started being approached by more and more traditional marketing consultants and agencies that needed to start offering online marketing to their clients, but had no in-house ability to consult and deliver in this new medium.

I began offering training and consulting in addition to subcontracting the work itself, partnering with marketers to enhance their client services with internet marketing and web management. Many clients lamented on how intimidating and difficult it was to try to learn how to market clients online, and the idea for Internet Strategy TV was born.

2009 has been a busy and exciting year. In addition to growing Mateoworks and building a network of freelance talent to broaden service offerings and expedite turnaround time, I have begun working in different capacities with several internet ventures including uVizz, FoxCable.com and 360 Internet Management.
